Paul White Obituary

Paul D. White VIRGINIA BEACH - Paul Delano White was born March 28, 1937, in Glassport, Pa., and passed away Nov. 13, 2009. Paul joined the Navy at 19 and served 20 years, retiring as a senior chief petty officer. Upon retirement, he continued to proudly serve the Navy he loved as a civil servant at the Naval Air Station Norfolk and the Commander Naval Air Forces, Atlantic until his second retirement. Paul continued to serve his community as a community service officer with the Virginia Beach Police Department. He played an active role and assumed various leadership positions in a number of fraternal and service organizations including the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 99, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 8, Master Mason of the Bayside Lodge No. 218 of the AF&AM, the Virginia Beach Shrine Club, and the Hillbilly Unit of the Shrine Khedive Temple. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Lester White; beloved first wife of 40 years, Marcia; sister, Madeline; and brother, Stanton. He is survived by his cherished second wife, Adele White; loving twin daughters, Patti Bailey and Pam Andrews; sister, Betty; brothers, Charles and Owen; brother-in-law, Frank Gibson; sister-in-law, Elaine Gibson; four grandchildren, William Neaton, Erin Lasseter, Jennifer Andrews and Jeffery Bailey Jr.; and five great- grandchildren, Holly, Dawson, Steven, Carissa and Raegen. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the funeral home followed by internment at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 645 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
