Carroll Herndon Obituary

Carroll L. Herndon VIRGINIA BEACH - Carroll Lewis Herndon, 86, went to be with the Lord Nov. 14, 2009. Carroll was born in Orange County, Virginia. Carroll proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in Alaska. He retired from Virginia Power after 37 years as the Eastern Division supervisor of the Right of Way Division. Carroll was a member of First Baptist Church of Norfolk. Carroll brought sunshine and happiness in the lives of whomever he met with a cheerful and kind word. His love, humor, wisdom and faithful example touched many lives. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; son, David and daughter, Karen Zak; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family held a private service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
