Vivian Eccles Obituary

Vivian J. Eccles CHESAPEAKE - Vivian J. Eccles, 72, passed away Nov. 12, 2009, at her residence. She was born Oct. 14, 1937 to the late John T. and Ellen V. Owens in Harrellsville, N.C. She was predeceased by her first husband, Plummer Speller and two children, Leonard Speller and Gwendolyn D. Harp. In March 1998, Vivian married Raymond B. Eccles. She was a faithful member of Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Raymond B. Eccles; one daughter, Ellen M. Speller; two sisters, Ellen L. Smith and Ernestine Lacey; eight grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. A homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, 2201 Wingfield Ave. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. A wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Chapel.
