Mary Etheridge Obituary

Mary Lee D. Etheridge MOYOCK - Mary Lee Daughtrey Etheridge, 84, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family and friends in Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009. She was the daughter of Alvah Louis and Lucy Foreman Daughtrey, deceased. Born Jan. 27, 1925, in Portsmouth, she retired from government service. She was a former member of Broad Bay Garden Club and a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include her husband, Rudolph of Moyock, N.C. She had two sons, Roy and his wife Michelle and their son Alexander of Knoxville, Tenn., and Ray of Seattle; daughter, Joanne of Moyock; sister, Ann Jones and her husband Robert of Chesapeake; brother, Alvah Daughtrey of Chesapeake; several nieces and nephews. Mary and Rudolph met in 1952, married in early January 1953, and enjoyed each other for more than 56 years of marriage. Their three children were born in the 1960s in Virginia, and the family traveled together to many parts of the world from the 1960s through the 1990s. They lived in Virginia, Iceland, Washington (state), Israel, Alaska, Texas, Illinois, Tennessee and finally, North Carolina. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m. at the family home located at 114 Tulls Bay Drive, Moyock, NC 27958. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice.

I am so sorry to hear about Mary Lee. I have a copy of "From Here to There and Back" and truly enjoy reading about your adventures across country.
