Robert Jennings HERTFORD - Robert Jennings, 70, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Robert was a friend to all and loved by all. He was a fun, caring, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He enjoyed life and loved the water. His favorite hobbies were boating and fishing. He enjoyed playing games and joking around with family and friends. He was very creative and enjoyed working with his hands. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1960. He worked as a barber and craftsman for a few years, and then he went into construction doing custom woodwork and building. He could do just about anything and anything he did, he did it with talent that so many wished they had. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 49 years, Verona O'Neal Jennings; sons, Kit O'Neal and wife Tina, Kyle O'Neal and wife Annette; daughter, Roberta Jennings Baggett; grandchildren, Orviss Taz O'Neal, Warren O'Neal, Brandy Baggett, Lindsay O'Neal, Travis Jennings Baggett, Dustin Peel; seven brothers; and two sisters. He will be missed not only by his family, but everyone who knew him. The family will receive friends to celebrate the life of Robert Jennings Saturday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. at the Holiday Island Yacht Club in Hertford, N.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
