Joe Williams Obituary

Joe Louis Williams CHESAPEAKE - Joe Louis Williams was born Dec. 9, 1938 in Scotland Neck, N.C., and departed this life Nov. 22, 2009 after residing with his brother for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Emma Williams; sister, Lavoris Pearson; and brothers, Raymond and Danford Williams. Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Katenna; sons, Joel and Lewis D.; sister, Shirley Boone (the Rev. Leon Boone); brothers, Melvin Williams (Carolyn) and Alastair Williams (Charlene); a sister-in-law, Raynelle Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 30, at noon in New Hope United Church of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., Norfolk with the Rev. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Corprew Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The family will receive guests at 3000 Stratford Drive, Chesapeake.
