Paul Woolwine Obituary

Paul W. Woolwine NORFOLK - Paul W. Woolwine, 74, passed away Dec. 1, 2009, in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. A native of Crown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Charlie W. and Mary Ellen Woolwine. He retired from the United Sates Navy as a senior chief having served in Korea. He also retired from QED as a technician writer. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 60. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janice F. Woolwine; two daughters, Paula LaBarge and Marilee Shaffer and her partner Elana Warren, all of Norfolk; a sister, Janet Browning of West Virginia; a brother, Donald Woolwine and wife Pat of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Heather Shaffer of Virginia Beach, Holly Kotrba and husband Thomas of Massachusetts, Taylor and Karlee LaBarge, both of Norfolk; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ava Kotrba of Massachusetts. A funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. The burial with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

I am so thankful I was given the opportunity to know Mr. Woolwine. He was truly a courageous man. May the Lord bless you with His comfort in the coming weeks and months.
