Francis Paul Obituary

Francis Lamar Paul VIRGINIA BEACH - Francis Lamar Paul, 77, of the 1500 block of Doewood Court, passed away Nov. 29, 2009, surrounded by family. A native of Pennsylvania, he retired from the United States Navy as a master chief aviation storekeeper. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 99, Cemetery Ridge Hunt Club and the Little Creek Retired Men's Bowling League and Tuesday night Mix League. The family would like to thank the offices of Dr. Panigraphi, Dr. Chakraborthy, Dr. Grayson and Dr. McGrath as well as their wonderful neighbors and friends for your love and support over the years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Claudine Paul; two daughters, Jacqueline M.J. Wolf and husband Thomas of York, Pa., and Sharon P. Harris and husband Mark of Virginia Beach; two sons, Francis J. Paul and companion Pamela Spangler of Howardsville, Va., and Roger Paul and wife Rose of Chesapeake; four grandchildren, Shannon M. Paul, Dr. Thomas R. Wolf, Stanley M. Tarkenton III and Jennifer C. Wolf; and a great-granddaughter, his pride and joy, Marissa C. Bishop. He is also survived by three sisters, Phylis Scheib, Betty Freeman and Joan Shade and a brother, Gerald Paul, all of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Robert Paul and a sister, Dolly Brosius. A funeral with military honors and Fleet Reserve service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. The family will greet friends in the chapel Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon- brown.com.
