Dorothy Kinsey Obituary

Dorothy Guest Kinsey CHESAPEAKE - Dorothy Guest Kinsey went to eternal rest Dec. 1, 2009. Dorothy was the daughter of Walter C. and Huellet Guest, born on April 26, 1919, in Norfolk. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilbur I. Kinsey, and her five siblings. She is survived by her sons, Willie E. Kinsey, Charles R. Kinsey (wife Martha), and daughter, Dorothy M. Kowalsky (husband Larry). She loved and had great pride in her five grandchildren, Derrick Kinsey (wife Penny) of Utah, Justin Kinsey (wife Dee Dee) of Charlottesville, Robert Kowalsky (wife Catherine), Amy Leigh Kowalsky and Larry K. Kowalsky Jr. (wife Summer); and eight great- grandchildren, Skylar and Sydney Kowalsky, Khaki and Ketch Kinsey, Alex and Max Kinsey, Devin Kowalsky and Giovanni Darrigo. She also leaves her special niece of Tampa, Fla., Dr. Debra Guest and sister-in-law, Mary Louise Guest of Virginia Beach to cherish her memory. Dorothy was a member of Indian River Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She served many years as president of her Sunday school class, was a member of the Indian River Baptist Church Seniors Group and the South Norfolk Niners Seniors Club. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Indian River Baptist Church, 1600 Laurel Ave., Chesapeake. The Rev. Robert Jordon will officiate. Interment services shall be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Dorothy's Memorial Fund at Indian River Baptist Church. Friends are invited to send condolences and to sign the online guestbook at www. omanfh.com.

To Dot's family. We remember Dot as a good neighbor and for me Charlene a good friend. It is always hard for us to see our love one's leave us. But we will see them again. Larry and I were your neighbors in the mid fifties on Providence Road.
