Mae Card Obituary

Mae J. Card NORFOLK - Mae J. Card, 79, passed away peacefully Dec. 5, 2009. Mrs. Card was born March 12, 1930 to the late Arza and Theresa Jones. She was a longtime member of Norview Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, making quilts, surf fishing, and spending time with her family on the Outer Banks. She will always be remembered as loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 54 years, Edward B. Card Sr.; son, Edward B. Card Jr.; grandson, Edward B. Card III; brother, Max A. Jones and wife Audrey; numerous nieces and nephews. The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. today, Dec. 8, at the funeral home. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com.

Bennett, We were so sorry to hear about your Mom. But, we know she is in a better place and will be looking down upon you and your family until you meet again. So sorry we missed last night I was confused about the day. You know we will be here if you need us.

I have many fond memories of Mae and the way she always made me feel at home and welcome. My heart goes out to Ed , Bennett , Ben and the entire family as you mourn her loss. Remember the good times and all the love she shared with you all always. She dearly loved her family and she will be dearly missed.
