Selma Feeney Obituary

Selma A. Feeney VIRGINIA BEACH - Selma Augustine Klughart Feeney, 91, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009. She was born Oct. 24,1918, in Sainte Genevieve, Mo., to George Klughart Sr. and Delia P. Morice. On July 5, 1940, she married her high school sweetheart, James Paul Feeney in Ste. Genevieve. James Feeney was a 23-year veteran of the Air Force. Selma traveled extensively with her husband to Alaska, Illinois, Massachusetts, California, Georgia, Hawaii, Florida and Okinawa. After James retired from the Air Force, he worked for McDonnell-Douglas and they traveled to Virginia, North Carolina, Iran, California and back to Virginia Beach. Selma is survived by her brother, Stephen King of Tyler, Texas; her daughter, Michelle and husband Don Versluys; two grandchildren, Donna and James Versluys, all of Friendswood, Texas; and a daughter, Mary Feeney Luskey; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Sheppard and Rebecca Sheppard Vaccarella, her husband Andrew; and one great-grandson, Logan, all of Virginia Beach. In addition to her parents, Selma was preceded in death by her husband and by two brothers, William King and George Klughart Jr. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 10, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1279 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach. Following the service, entombment will take place at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Selma was a charter member of Holy Family Catholic Church and memorial donations may be made to the church. We would like to thank the staff of the Marian Manor Assisted Living Center for their help and support.
