Michael G. McKouen NORFOLK - Retired U.S. Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Michael G. McKouen, 92, of the 1900 block of Edgewood Ave., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009. Born in Detroit, Michael was a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II and Korea. He also worked for the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority and the City of Norfolk water department. Michael was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for 63 years and found great satisfaction in volunteering there. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fleet Reserve Branch 60, and the Ocean View Men's Senior Golf Association and TSIGA. Michael is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marylou Helen McKouen, whom he married Nov. 1, 1946. He is also survived by a daughter, Michele Anne Baskette and husband Hugh of Norfolk, and three grandchildren, Angela, Nicole and Brockton Baskette, all of Norfolk. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Daniel Beamon officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the Mass of the Resurrection. Arrangements are being handled by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel.
