Charlotte Folz Obituary

Charlotte A. Folz NORFOLK - Charlotte A. Folz, 86, of Azalea Garden Road, went peacefully to heaven to be with her husband of 66 years Dec. 6, 2009. She was born in Chemung, Ill., Dec. 30, 1922 to the late Ellery and Ethel Dawson. She was predeceased by Lt. Cmdr. Charles Folz Sr., her husband and son Charles Folz Jr. Charlotte is survived by her son, Jeffrey Folz of Norfolk and her daughter, Sherry Curtis and husband Bill of Alabama. Charlotte enjoyed growing up on her grandmother's farm in rural Illinois. She married Charles in 1943 and as a Navy wife, she traveled throughout the world with him. Charlotte enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and crossword puzzles but what made her most happy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her. A very special thank you to Pat Price, her loving caretaker in mom's final years. Also, thank you to the staff of Sentara Hospice. There will be a viewing and memorial service at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Sunday, Dec. 13, from 3 to 4 p.m. Charlotte will be buried with her husband Charles in Arlington National Cemetery Jan. 6, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation or the Cancer Society of your choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
