G. Hershell Lowry Jr.

G. Herschell Lowry Jr. NORFOLK - G. Herschell Lowry Jr. passed away Dec. 9, 2009. He was born May 19, 1949 in Baltimore, the son of the late Glenn H. Lowry Sr. and Clara Lowry. Herschell had attended Baltimore Community College and was a star pitcher for their baseball team and was a very talented young man. Other than playing sports, he enjoyed listening to music and dancing. On May 20, 1969, Herschell was in an automobile accident that changed his life as he knew it. Not letting the accident hold him back, he took it as a new challenge, building a new life that was happy and fulfilling. He was a loving and caring person; he was very devoted to his family. Herschell enjoyed working and had an exceptional work ethic, looking forward to going to work every day at Beach Packaging. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Debbie Eddings; nieces, Corinne Santana and husband Bobby and Mariah Eddings; nephew, Dylan Eddings and other loving family, as well as the friends that he made at Community Alternatives Inc. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, 818 Norview Ave., by the Rev. Joseph Shepherd.
