I was very sorry to hear of Bullet's death. I got to know him through umpire clinics at Joe Brinkman's school in Florida. Bullet always had a great respect for everyone he met. He will be missed among umpires throughout the nation. The Alexander family is in our prayers.

My heart goes out to Frances Alexander. You are such a nice person and your hard work and love kept Bullet in our presence for a long time. I know when the Heart Hospital crew was working on Bullet, they knew they were working on Royalty. He was truly a pioneer in umpiring and because of his efforts , the pastime of umpiring baseball has come a long way. There are a number of people that have the ability to umpire baseball in such a way that it earns the respect of others. It is a far fewer number of individuals who can teach others how to do it. Bullet could do both. They sometimes say, those who can't do, teach. Well Bullet Alexander was a great umpire and great teacher and a great friend. To take your time and help other learn takes patience and concern for others. Because of his desire to teach, countless people were able to grasp the essence of umpiring. Not only balls and strikes , but a feel for the game. Bullet truly had a positive effect on all those he came in contact with. This week MLB put Doug Harvey, "God" into the hall of fame. Well our "God" of college and high school and amateur baseball umpiring went into his own hall of fame as well. I am proud to say that Bullet and Frances Alexander are my friends. I wish for strength to Frances in what I know will be a trying time. Jim Stuck.

It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of my friend Bullet. Those of us who umpired in the International League will always smile when we think of Bullet. He was truly a great man and friend. I was lucky enough to meet and befriend Bullet and Frances in 1980 while attending umpire school. Bullet has meant alot to alot of umpires and was always willing to help.
God must have needed a strong Crew Chief.
Rest in Peace my friend.

From the very moment I first met Bullet, I knew that there was something very special about this man. He was the kind of person that everybody gravitated to, you wanted to hear his words of advice, his opinion was without question. From my first days at Dunn Hunt Club, if there was ever any question or debate about what direction things should go, you would hear "Where's Bullet" because HE would have the answers. I will be forever blessed and proud to be able to say Bullet Alexander was my good friend ! God Speed Bullet, we'll save a chew for you !
