Janice C. Frieden NORFOLK - Janice C. Frieden, 90, passed away peacefully Wednesday night Dec. 9, 2009. Born July 31, 1919, in New York City, Janice was the daughter of I.V. and Cecelia Cohen. She met her husband and soulmate, Dr. Harry Frieden, on a blind date and they were married six months later. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Zipp and her husband Joel and daughter Carly; as well as her daughter, Jane Frieden. Janice lived a long and fruitful life, world-traveled, well-educated, and loved her New York Times crossword puzzles and orchids. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Dec. 13, at Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rabbi Rosalin Mandelberg and Cantor Wally Schachet-Briskin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her honor to any favorite charity. A shiva service will be held Monday, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the home of the Zipps in Bethesda, Md. May she rest peacefully and know that she was loved. H.D.
