Ruth Stutzman Obituary

Ruth Stutzman CHESAPEAKE - Ruth Stutzman, 73, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Norwood, N.C., the daughter of the late William Oris and Carrie Sasser Capel. She will be remembered as a very loving mother. She was predeceased by one daughter. She is survived by her four children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 18, at Mount Pleasant Mennonite Church Cemetery, 2041 Mount Pleasant Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Keith Miller and the Rev. Sam Scaggs will officiate. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory Great Bridge Chapel, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322. Friends are also invited to send condolences and sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com.

Lynn and Tim,

I was so sorry to hear your mom had passed. I have good memories of her, how sweet she was, and how friendly. I will always remember her southern accent, calling you two home for supper, making two syllables out of each name. I would have liked to attended her service, but was out of town. I hope you all are well.
