Beauford Evans Obituary

Beauford R. Evans VIRGINIA BEACH - Beauford R. Evans, 83, went to be with the Lord Dec. 18, 2009. He was born March 7, 1926 in Onancock, Va., the son of the late Roy and Helen Evans. Mr. Beauford served his country in the United States Navy, retiring with 21 years of service as a first class petty officer. He was hired by Interior Systems in 1975 to run the paint department and left in 1986 as the president. He continued working eight more years as a site manager for the Breeden Company. Beauford loved freshwater fishing and when he wasn't fishing he enjoyed his trips to the casinos in Atlantic City, Indiana and Las Vegas. He was a member of the Ocean View Fleet Reserve. He was preceded in death by two sons, Tommy Evans and Robert Matthews, and his grandson, Andrew Pullin. Beauford was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 35 years, Margaret Evans; daughter, Kim Eddings and her husband Greg; sons, Paul W. Matthews Jr. and Jeffery G. Matthews and his friend Robert Rishor; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; beloved sister, Joanne and brother-in-law and friend, Forest Newhall. He leaves behind many lifelong friends and devoted family members including, Dale and Linda Hunter, David and Nancy Parlette and Joseph Turner III. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rosewood- Kellum Funeral Home with burial and full military honors to follow in Rosewood Memorial Park.The family will receive friends in the funeral home today, Dec. 21, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. You may offer your love and condolences to the family at www.mem.com.

Dear Margaret,
