Daisy Charles Obituary

Daisy M. Brown Charles PORTSMOUTH - Daisy Margaret Brown "Ms. Daisy" Charles, 88, of the 1700 block of Maple Ave., died April 5, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Goldsboro, N.C., and was the widow of William Charles. She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Temple where she served on the women's usher board. She is survived by her son, Lawrence Brown (Hattie); one sister, Nettie Hamlin of Petersburg; grandchildren, Eric J. Brown, Bernell Brown (Sheila), Reginald Brown (Willie Mae), Kevin L. Riddick, Tomecia Riddick, Levera, Ray Anthony, Shelia Riddick, Reginald Riddick (Brenda), Frazell Riddick (Kathy), all of Hampton Roads, Jarvis Riddick (Brenda) of Connecticut, Tracy Riddick (Robin) of Tennessee; 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, including Ramona and Eddie Carter. She was predeceased by a grandson, Benjamin Riddick Jr. A funeral will be held Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. in Corprew Funeral Home chapel. Pastor Leon Boone will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. A wake will be held Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
