Kindred Vann Obituary

Kindred Boyce Vann NEWPORT - Kindred Boyce Vann, 71, of Newport, N.C., passed away April 8, 2010. Born in Norfolk, he was a longtime resident of Virginia Beach for 65 years. After his retirement from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 30 years, he moved to Newport for the last six years. Preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Vann and Jewel Petersen, he is survived by his wife, Linda W. Vann of 47 years. He is also survived by three sons, Dean and wife Debbie of Portsmouth, Kevin and wife Lynda of Morehead City, N.C., and Kenneth and wife Lisa of Virginia Beach; four grandchildren, Andrew, Taylor, Alex and William; four step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; and sister, Sandra White of Kitty Hawk, N.C. Service and interment will be Tuesday, April 13, at 1 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.
