George Parker Obituary

George Ellis Parker VIRGINIA BEACH - George Ellis "Bro" Parker, 68, of the 4700 block of Lonewillow Lane, went home to be with the Lord, April 7, 2010. He was born in Elizabeth City, N.C., to the late Elbert Parker Sr. and Annie Whidbee Parker. George was also predeceased by two brothers, William and Earl Parker and two sisters, Ethel P. Cartwright and Annie P. Gorham. George was a resident of Virginia Beach since 1963. He retired from the city of Virginia Beach as a code enforcement inspector with 37 years of service. He was a member of Covenant Blessings Outreach Ministries, where he served faithfully as a deacon and usher until his illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Mattie G. Parker; two sons, Carlos Parker (Juddel) and Terell A. Parker Sr. (Carol); four grandchildren, Candis Moffitt Ward (Demetrius), Caylisa, Hakeem and Terell A. Parker Jr.; three brothers, Lessell Parker Sr., Elbert Parker Jr. and Curtis Parker (Delrese); and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Chapel. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk.
