Harry Lanning Obituary

Harry Everett Lanning WINDSOR - Harry Everett Lanning, born May 18, 1921, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2010. He was born in Sherman, Minn., and the oldest of six children. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Virginia Lanning. Harry is survived by two daughters, Patricia Tribby and her husband David L. of Windsor, Va., and Sharon Lanning, also of Windsor; and two granddaughters, Rachael Pan and Bethany Brockell. He is also survived by one sister, Elizabeth Van Gronigen and her husband Gordan of Dakota City, Iowa and one brother, Dickson Lanning and wife Carolyn of Missouri; and one sister-in- law, Edith Lanning of Colonial Heights, Va. Mr. Lanning was a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk, Lifetime deacon, and Sunday school teacher. A funeral will be conducted Tuesday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, the Rev. Charles Thompson with burial at Meadowbrook Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends Monday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA, 23434. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideon International Society, Suffolk Gideon Camp, P.O. Box 1214, Suffolk, VA 23439-1214.
