Dear Mom and Dad Buchanan and the entire family,
We count it an honor and privilege to have known Shae and to have had the opportunity to pray with him during his final days here on earth. We know he was a young man of faith and therefore we find comfort in the promises of God.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding be with you today and until we all met again. Remember Shae's love for each and every one of you each day.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the day you guys came into the ED and I took you all over to Oncology and sat with you until Shae was done. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Shae's death came as a shock to me as i walked into toddler station to pick up my daughters who have gone there for the past two years. we have grown to love shae as family,and knew he was battling cancer for a while, i thought he was doing so much better because he came back to work, it was wonderful to see him after his absence, and we are very sad to lose such a wonderful kid,he took great pride in his work, and my daughters loved him and miss him very much, there will always be something missing at the school now, but we will always remember him and all the wonderful things he did for everyone in his life. j.c.

Shae even with us loosing touch I still always find my self talking about the day when I was training you, and Karl and you were doing front hand springs in the dining room and Scott came around the corner and gave me a look like why did you make them do that. You will be missed and Karl I think of you often. God has taken a great one.

you made my 9th grade year in color guard very entertaining. i have never met anyone quite like you and i must say, you will be deeply missed by many. deepest sympathy to all of your family and other friends. WOW! The news of Shae's passing came as such a shock. I was on facebook today and for some reason his name came to mind. We went to VoTech for fashion together, and I wondered what he was up too. I searched his name and saw a mutual friend was posting about his passing. It was so heart breaking to read. What a bright and joyful soul he was. My heart goes out to his close friends and family. I lost a close friend, Justin Thatcher, 10 yrs ago this month. May God bless. Thank God for sending his angel my way today so I could keep him in my prayers.

I used to dive with Shae in high school. I remember how everyday I would look forward to seeing him at practice to talk about our day. He was such a wonderful person and a great listener. He always knew exactly what to say to brighten your day. I can only wish to someday have the same enthusiasm towards life as he had. The last time I saw Shae was on New Years Eve at the mall and it was much to my surprise that he was ill. But, the only way I knew was because of his missing hair. After talking to him for a few minutes, it was like he had made me forget he was sick because he had such a positive attitude. He is truly a one of a kind person who I know I will never forget. That smile and bubbly spirit will be forever engraved in my memories. May Shae rest in peace.

I only got to see Shae a few times, but that beautiful smile and them cute dimples and his enthusiam for life I will never forget.He was the happiest person I know.He will be greatly missed,and my prayers will be with his family.God just got one goodlooking ANGEL!

My deepest condolences to Shae's family. He truly was a remarkable man. It was a pleasure getting to know him back in High School, he was definitely the friendliest guy you could ever meet. He will be truly missed but we shall all remember him through all the lives he has touched.

Shae was such a ball of energy and such a character. I would get such a kick out of him when he would come to my house. I'd hear "Hey Mom".
He went to the prom with my daughter Kaity. They were the best dressed, most accessorized couple there! I still giggle when I think of the pack they made. Shae thank you for being such a good friend to Kaity and thank you for touching my life.
I hope you fly high with Angela. Rest In Peace Honey.

My memories of Shae include looking out my window and seeing him practicing his cheering in the driveway almost every day! Sometimes I didn't even have to look to know he was there because I could hear him from my kitchen. Shae Buchanan I will always hear your cheers in my heart as if you are out in the front yard! You were loved, and you will be missed.

Shae- you will be forever missed... youre fabulous personality... youre radiant smile... the joy you gave to everyone who was ever lucky enough to have met you... We hung out a lot in 9th/10th grade when you lived near Paige...and those times were all good -NEVER EVER a dull moment... we all did NOTHING together most times...and it was hella fun... The world has lost a beautiful person in Shae. His spirit and warmth will live on in our hearts forever. My prayers are with your family Shae. I hope you already know, just how much of an impact your son had on so many. He was an angel that god decided to take back to heaven. His smile and spirit were something that can never be forgotten. I am only sad for those who will never have to opportunity to know him. I am glad and blessed that I was one of them. I remember the away competition I went on with my little sister, and you and some other cheerleaders had come to our room to hang out, that night was so much fun; and the power point you made about us all being silly, well that makes me smile evrytime I think about it. i've known Shae since 9th grade in 2000 and never seen his pessimistic side. Shae was something special and everyone knew. his smile was something to remember and he was such a good and funny person. It has been a privilege for me to pray for Shae daily and wear his bracelet since we first met you wonderful caregivers at Sentara in Norfolk back in August last year. We clicked right away, bonding our emotional hearts providing an outlet for those times when we needed someone who understood, someone to listen to us, someone with whom it was okay to shed anxious tears, and someone to offer a word of encouragement. How brave Shae has been and what a legacy he has left behind in the lives of so many he has touched. He will live on because he planted seeds of love and joy in the hearts of the little children, his friends and his family. I join you in celebrating Shae who showed us our to persevere with joy and a smile that melts hearts. May the Father of us all continue to bring comfort and reassurance for your hurting hearts.
