Elsie Sellers Obituary

Elsie M. Sellers VIRGINIA BEACH - Elsie M. Sellers, 93, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2010. She was born Dec. 21, 1916 in Norris City, Ill., the daughter of the late Luther and Anna Jordan. Elsie was a life member of the Fairfield Garden Club, serving as their chaplain. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and the Navy Marine Society. Elsie was also a member of Community United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Elmer Edward Sellers and son, Rocky Sellers. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kay L. Oldfield and husband Dr. Ronald E. Oldfield of Virginia Beach; her son, Dennis J. Sellers of Lancaster, Calif.; three grandchildren, Mark E. Oldfield and wife Megan of Virginia Beach, Donna Hope and husband Chris of Virginia Beach and Selena Guetzlaff of Rosamond, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren, Walker and Macrae Hope of Virginia Beach and Brittany and Amanda Guetzlaff of Rosamond, Calif. A graveside memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 20, at 1 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Community United Methodist Church, 1072 Old Kempsville Road, Virginia Beach, VA, 23464 or Heartland Hospice, 5029 Corporate Woods Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
