Richard Waida Obituary

Richard T. Waida YORKTOWN - Richard Thomas Waida died April 18, 2010 at Mary Immaculate Hospital of cancer. He was a native of Transfer, Pa., and served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Clara Waida of Transfer, Pa., and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Waida; daughters, Susan Hauser and husband Mike of Virginia Beach, Debbie Bartos and husband Dale of Gloucester, and Linda Bowers and husband Brent of Virginia Beach; two sisters; two brothers and an uncle of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parklawn- Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Simone officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in the name of Richard Waida may be made to Mary Immaculate Hospital-Hospice Unit, 2 Bernardine Drive, Newport News, VA 23602.
