Elsie Burton Obituary

Elsie V. Burton FRANKLIN - Elsie Vaughan Burton, 89, widow of Roy Hines Burton, died April 23, 2010 at her daughter's home. She was born in Suffolk, a daughter of the late Lilly Mae Ellis Vaughan and William Bruce Vaughan, and was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Vaughan and a brother, Bruce Vaughan. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Ginger B. Gay (Robert) of Courtland and Karen B. Pierce (Tommy) of Franklin; one brother, Edwin Vaughan of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Burt Gay (Donna) of Sebrell, Amy Gay, Mark Pierce and Rob Pierce, all of Franklin; six great-grandchildren, Rob Gay, MacKenzie Gay, Michael Gay, Matthew Gay, Colby Gay and Chandler Turner. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Sharon James officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Ginger and Robert Gay, 26208 Wills Circle, Courtland. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.

I didn't know Ms. Elsie had past until today. I thought she was the sweetest person and I'm very sorry to hear it. I will miss her.
