Dear Family,
I remember so many times we were together as a family and Cheri would always do her best to be there.
She really loved her boys and her grandchildren. When I had children she was so interested in everything about them. She would always send Christmas cards, even when we were in Hawaii.
It took me a few years to realize what a great person she really was and I will miss her. She always had the most intersting stories about where she had lived and things she had learned.
Thor and Kyle I am so very sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Barrie

Dear Family,
Cheri was a devoted, loving, passionate mother and grandmother, and a wonderful, dedicated elementary school teacher.
We were fortunate to live in Virginia Beach, close to Cheri in 2002 and she was able to share in some of her grandchildren's best years (Colin age 1 and Teagan age 5, at that time) . She shared her atristic talent with Teagan, her love for vibrant colors, drawing and the use of oil pastels lives on in her grandaughter. Cheri could have curled up with her grandchildren and a good book for hours, or until Colin feel to sleep. For Cheri, the sun rose and set on Teagan and Colin, she gave generously and loved us wholeheartedly. She deeply loved her family.
We love and miss you Cheri,
Karen, Teagan and Colin

Dear Thor and Kyle,
I am so sorry for your loss. When I started working 7 days a week our communication fell behind. Last year when my work schedule changed to something normal I had tried to reach your Mom but I guess she had already moved to Richmond.
I worked with you mom @ G.A. Treakle school in Chesapeake in the 70's, and sometimes worked as her aide. She was so talented in all she did and she had great style. I wish I had asked her where she purchased her clothes because she always looked great no matter what she was wearing.. After she retired she use to visit me often and in the 90's she tutored my youngest son, Andy. Cheri use to say "I want to live at least til the year 2000", and "I want to live to see grandchildren", and "I want to live til my grandchildren are old enough to remember me".
Well I see she made it !
She was great and we loved her. I know I don't need to tell you how much she loved you both. "My sons" - were her life.
If I can be of any assistance please let me know. It would be an honor.
As always,
Frances Griffin
