Winnie Williams Obituary

Winnie B. Williams VIRGINIA BEACH - Winnie B. Williams, 86, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away May 1, 2010 in her home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hugh W. Williams of Buxton, N.C.; her dear friend, Harold Chase; and all of her other family members waiting for her in eternal peace. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Hugh W. Williams Jr. of Virginia Beach; daughter, Laura Poe and son-in-law Jimmie Poe of Arcadia, Fla.; daughter, Helen Carol Anderson and son-in-law, Dickie Anderson of Buxton, N.C.; three wonderful grandchildren, Matthew Poe and wife Stacey of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Robin L. Anderson of Buxton, N.C., and Rosialeigh W. Anderson of Buxton, N.C.; one great- grandson, Ryan Poe of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and a sister, Billie Lowers and brother- in-law, Logan. Winnie was a member of Essex Methodist Church since 1937. She retired from Virginia Beach General Hospital after 28 years. After she retired, she lovingly gave herself through many hours and years (25) as a volunteer for the city of Virginia Beach. A special thank you to her caregivers, the ladies form Heartland Home Health, as well as Stephanie, Adrianne and Kim of hospice care; her granddaughters, Robin and Rosialeigh and her little friend Lydia. May God Bless You... A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Princess Anne Memorial Park. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is in charge.
