Ricky Lee loved life, his family and all his friends. He was a great co-worker, always fun to be around, and always ready to bring in fresh vegetables from his garden - especially sliced cucumbers in vinegar. He will be greatly missed, especially by his two daughters who he adored. My deepest sympathy to his family, you are in our prayers.

Ricky Lee was someone that is rare in this world, someone without an enemy to speak of. Everyone liked him. From the first time I met him back in 2003 when I got my amateur radio license, I found him to be a genuine, true friend. I will miss you very much friend!

Ricky Lee always liked talking about the aliens, and we had a funny story to tell , when my mom was in hospital recovering from surgery. I told Ricky Lee that my mom was awakened one night by the tv in the next room sending out signals the aliens were coming to get her, she pulled her iv's out and almost had her feet on the floor, Ricky laughed about the aliens and said, see they are real...always enjoyed hearing his voice, everyone knew what a great hammer he really was... 73 OM de W3PRL, Paul

Ricky Lee had a gift for the improbable and the sublime, a combination that makes for a lopsided grin on an awful lot of faces and a better day than it was before we talked to him.

He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered, and my heart breaks for the family. God bless you and keep you Ricky Lee, and don't forget to scratch Rudy under the ear for me.

Margaret, I never had the opportunity to meet you but I have heard many nice things about you. Andie and Ashleigh, I am so sorry to learn of your daddy's passing. I used to work with Ricky Lee years ago in PERA. He used to get the biggest kick out of playing tricks on me, so I named him the "Trixster". He always made me laugh. We would make tomato sandwiches and eat them for lunch in the summer and we'd cook in the filing cabinet in the winter. We got the biggest laugh out of people trying to figure out why our work area smelled so good! Those were good times. When I got married and moved to NC, Ricky made sure to stay in touch with me, almost like a big brother. He's given me lots of brotherly advice thru the years and I've treasured his emails and occasional phone calls and enjoyed the stories he shared of you girls and Margaret. My birthday is August 4th and he loved that I had the same birthday as one of his beloved daughters. I will truly, miss his occasional email and update. I considered him a lifelong friend. My deepest sympathies go out to each of you. I am so sorry for your loss and truly wish I could attend his services to give each of you a big hug. Seek God in this time and may his comfort surround you. "Trixster", you will be sadly missed, but greatly remembered. May you rest in peace my friend.

Ricky Lee's passing is worse than "a hair on a biscuit," oh those sayings he had we're all gonna miss. I told him once I loved visiting Virginia cause I loved seeing all those second place trophies. Ricky Lee laughed at that one and I only wish I could have made him laugh more. The Dismal swamp today is a bit more dismal but only down here on earth. Ricky Lee lives on in our hearts, our minds and the rf in his transmissions over the airwaves. 73 my friend. To Margaret and Family I bid you peace and love. Mike kb3ozd

I loved Ricky Lee KC4RIC, and I am not alone. He was a favorite ham radio operator of everybody on the Rooster Net, every morning of the year. We loved his cheerful voice and marvelous stories. He made the ordinary into something special--to our delight. He knew how to make everyone feel so special, and his spirits were uplifting. I loved all my radio visits with him "on the fringe of the Great Dismal Swamp." I shall hold him in memory; my life is all the better for having known him, and I shall miss him so very much. 73 Ricky Lee. "You know yours and I know mine." This is Carter N3AO, in Blacksburg, VA.

Ricky Lee so loved his friends, ham radio and a beautiful sunrise, but most of all he loved his two daughters and his beloved Margaret. I was so lucky to be one of his friends and ham radio "Buds".
