Rickey Delcambre Obituary

Rickey Delcambre LANCASTER, Pa. - Rickey J.H. Delcambre, 59, passed away peacefully Friday, May 1, 2010, at LGH surrounded by his loving family. Born April 24, 1951 in New Iberia, La., he was the son of the late Issac and Georgia (LeBlanc) Delcambre. He was married to Kathleen A. (Arpey) Delcambre on June 17, 1973. Rickey retired as a command master chief after serving 24 years of active duty as a nuclear engineer with the U.S. Navy. After retirement, Rick enjoyed a successful career in hospital facilities management including the former St. Joseph's Hospital, now Lancaster Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph's Hospital in Reading and Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia. He was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly missed by his son, Jacob Delcambre, husband of Cristy and their son, Jake of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Georgia Olivier, Alura Benoit, Betty Landry and Gail Castille, all of New Iberia, La. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Delcambre. A Christian prayer service will be held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, exclusive provider of veterans funeral care, 320 Blue Rock Road, Route 999, Millersville, PA 17551, 717-872-2266, on Saturday, May 8, at 5 p.m. Private interment will be in the Broussard Cemetery, New Iberia, La. Friends may visit with the family at Scheid's on Saturday between 3 and 5 p.m. Flowers will be received at Scheid's. The Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home is honored to serve the Delcambre family.
