Robert Geurtsen Obituary

Robert L. Geurtsen VIRGINIA BEACH - Robert Louis Geurtsen, 63, passed away May 18, 2010. Mr. Geurtsen was born Nov. 30, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wis. to the late Louis A. Geurtsen and Joan C. Walker. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in July 1985 and also retired from the City of Virginia Beach. He is survived by his wife, Helen A. Geurtsen; daughter, Tammy Cool and husband Joseph; son, Robert Geurtsen Jr. and wife Michelle; seven grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle and Corey Cool and Brittney, Katlynn, Kaitlyn and Braylen Geurtsen, all of Virginia Beach; sister, Barbara Dunn (Tom) of Virginia Beach; and three brothers, Gerald Geurtsen (Sharon), Lawrence Geurtsen (Diane), and Dennis Geurtsen (Cheri) of Wisconsin. A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held Thursday, May 27, at 1 p.m. at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery Donations Program, Suffolk. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater assisted the family.
