Anne Kovacs Obituary

Anne Bush Kovacs NORFOLK - Anne Bush Kovacs passed from this life in the early morning hours of Friday, June 18, 2010. She departed peacefully in her sleep, ending an 84-year sojourn through life that was filled with laughter and love. Anne was born and raised in Byron, Ga., accompanied by her best friends and sisters, Marian Bush Thames and June Bush Kosciuszko, and their brother, Arthur "Boonie" Bush (now deceased). As a young lady, she met and fell in love with a dashing young Air Force officer, Charles A. "Charlie" Kovacs, with whom she enjoyed a 59-year marriage. Anne was a loving, devoted wife to Charlie, a dedicated and staunchly patriotic Air Force spouse, and a devoted lifelong Methodist. Anne and Charlie shared an exciting life together filled with travel and sharing time with family. They created a heritage through their four children, Charles M. "Chuck" Kovacs of Hershey, Pa., Karen A. Blakey of Norfolk, David A. Kovacs of Hampton and Bob D. Kovacs of Hayes. As their children grew, Anne was happy to welcome into their family Chuck's wife, Betty; Karen's husband, David; and Bob's wife, Karen. Anne also cherished and was cherished by her grandchildren, Evin Kovacs King and her husband Chris of Pittsburgh, Daniel Kovacs and Kelly Kovacs, both of Hershey and Annie Blakey and Emilyn Blakey, both of Norfolk. Anne also enjoyed a large circle of friends on the Peninsula. She was an avid bridge player, a member of Willow Oaks Garden Club, a 20-year volunteer at the Langley Air Force Base Pharmacy, and a member of the Protestant faith community of Chapel One at Langley Air Force Base. Family visitation will be held Sunday, June 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Monday, June 21, at 1 p.m. at Chapel One at Langley Air Force Base, officiated by Chaplain Capt. Ken Fisher. Interment will follow at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be offered to the American Heart Association, 500 E. Plume St., Suite 110, Norfolk, VA 23510. Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-wood- fh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family. To the Kovacs Family,
I was very sad to hear of Anne passing. I had the honor of being Annes hairdresser for over twenty years. I enjoy her stories of the wonderful times with her family. Anne, was very proud of her family. I feel I have known most of you , without even meeting you. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Karen and Aunt June. Charlie is a wonderful husband. The last few months the way he would bring Anne to my salon. Helping her all the way. You could feel and see the love he had for her. I will miss Anne, very much.
Thank you for letting her to be a part of my life.

My son and I were very lucky to visit for a week with Uncle Charles and Aunt Anne this past March at their home in Virginia. They were more than generous welcoming us into their home.
Anne and Charlie always cheerfully seeing to our needs being the most wonderful hosts.
We got to see & hear all week how attentive, loving and caring their children were to their parents helping with Anne's rehabilatation, never going home until every last detail was done.
This shows what kind of parents they were. There was a lot of love in that home.
