Johnny Ross Obituary

Johnny Wade Ross NORFOLK - Retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Johnny Wade Ross, 69, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010, at a local hospital. Johnny was a U.S. Army veteran of 31 years, member of the Monitor Masonic Lodge No. 197 and the Retired Officers Association. He is survived by his wife, Mary G. Ross; daughter, Deborah Tyndal of Daytona Beach, Fla.; sons, Gerald Ross of Daytona Beach, Dale DeMay and wife Martha of Richmond, Va., and Anthony P. DeMay and wife Marie of Chesterfield, Va.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Robert Ross of Smithfield, Va., J.D. Ross and wife Janet of Medford, N.J., and sister-in -law, Frances Ross of Spotsylvania County, Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse D. and Esther D. Ross and his brother, J. Richard Ross of Spotsylvania County. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon- brown.com.
