Starr Rhodes

Starr E. Rhodes SUNBURY - Starr Eason Rhodes, 88, of the 200 block of Acorn Hill Road, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 in her home. Mrs. Rhodes was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late Marmaduke and Elsie Leah Alphin Eason. A retired secretary from Mid-Way Chevrolet, she was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Hope Eason, Beryl Eason, and Bernice E. Ralph; and brothers, John Rufus Eason and Mack Eason. Surviving are her son, Randall "Randy" Rhodes of Sunbury; a sister, Elsie "Peggy" Ward of Tyner; sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Eason of Norfolk and Andrea Eason of Sunbury; and many extended family members and friends. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Christian Church by the Rev. Garrett Lewis and Pastor Wayne Eason. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, and all other times at the residence.
