Louise Presnell Obituary

Louise R. Presnell PORTSMOUTH - Louise Ragland Presnell, 89, a former and longtime Portsmouth resident, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010, in Virginia Beach. She was a native of Grandy, N.C., and was predeceased by her parents, James Victor and Minnie S. Ragland and her late husband, Willie Graham Presnell. She was a charter member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for more than 20 years. Survivors include her son, Thomas G. Presnell of Virginia Beach; one sister, Margaret Tenbrink of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Billy E. Ragland of Painter, Va.; two grandchildren, Donna Nunneley and her husband Timothy and Daniel G. Presnell; and one great- granddaughter, Shylor Nunneley. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, in the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. David Parker. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. www.Sturtevant FuneralHome.com.

Mr. Presnell, Dan, Donna: tough is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Granny. Love is next. I honestly thought that she would outlive us all. She has definitely left a legacy. My condolences.
