Marjorie Young Obituary

Marjorie J. Young VIRGINIA BEACH - Marjorie J. Young, 93, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010. Mrs. Young was born in Camden-on-Gauley, W.Va. She was very kind and loving woman. She especially loved her home in Virginia Beach, where she lived since 1968. She was a member of the Cape Henry Women's Club and was the Club's Woman of the Year in 1980-81. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Frederick J. Young and her son, Michael Young. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Florence Young and husband Leonard J. Ballback of Virginia Beach and by a granddaughter, Michelle Rivers, her husband Robert, and their children, Elizabeth, Kathleen, and Bobby of Atlanta, Ga. The family thanks Andrea Emilsson of Trinity Haven for the very compassionate, considerate, and loving care that she gave to Mrs. Young during the last three years of her life. A graveside service will be conducted in Arlington National Cemetery on Sept. 2 at 3 p.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Wilmer Eye Institute, The Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, 600 N. Wolfe St., Baltimore, MD 21287-9015.
