Vaughn Wade Davis Sr. NEWPORT NEWS - Mr. Vaughn Wade "Buck" Davis Sr., 67, a resident of Melfa, Va., passed away Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 at his residence. Born July 5, 1943 in Newport News, Mr. Davis was the son of the late Nathan Lee Davis and Viva Gillikin Davis Ferguson. He was a graduate of Onancock High School, the retired owner/operator of Beaver Dam Tavern in Pocomoke, Md., and operated an auto body repair shop in Tasley, Va., for a number of years. He was a member of the Onancock Elks Lodge and the Loyal Order of the Moose. Survivors include a son, Vaughn Wade Davis Jr. of Chincoteague, Va.; a brother, Charles Davis of Walker, La.; and one niece and several nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Nathan Davis Jr. A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home Monday, Aug. 9, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Maury Enright officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market St., Suite No. 3, Onancock, VA 23417.
