Thomas Booker Obituary

Thomas F. Booker III NORFOLK - Thomas F. Booker III, 85, of the 100 block of Suburban Parkway, died Aug. 27, 2010. Thomas was born Sept. 9, 1924 in Norfolk, the son of the late Thomas F. Booker Jr. and Mary Burroughs Booker. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert V. Booker. Thomas was employed in the food service business for 55 years prior to retirement. He was a World War II Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge. Thomas was a member of Park Place Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 60. He is survived by two sons, Thomas F. Booker IV of Decatur, Ga., and Ronald L. Booker and wife Darlene Thomas of Conyers, Ga. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Booker Knouse of Norfolk; one granddaughter, Reid E. Booker of Conyers, Ga.; five nieces; one nephew; and his dearest friends, John T. Ramsey and wife Patty of Norfolk. Thomas would like to acknowledge the mother of his two sons, Velma Booker Butler of Conyers, Ga. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept.1, in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flower, contributions may be made to ASPCA.org. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon- brown.com.

I am so sorry for our lose, My Uncle was a woderful man who I will miss very much. Sorry could not be there for the service. I loved him very much and will alway's have him in my hart.
