Hilda Conrad Obituary

Hilda P. Conrad VIRGINIA BEACH - Hilda P. Conrad, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at the age of 83. She was born March 8, 1927 at her residence in Back Bay, Va., to Lennious Harry Peay and Annie Tysor Peay. A graduate from Maury High School in Norfolk. She worked as a customer service representative at C&P Telephone Company for many years. Hilda is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, James H. Conrad of Virginia Beach; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Linger and son-in-law, Eugene Linger, both of California; her brother, Barry Peay and wife Alexis Peay; two sisters, Gladys Sabato and Margaret DeWald; sisters-in-law, Dot Peay and Phyllis Peay; two granddaughters, Cammy Marie and Ivory Lynn Linger; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joe Peay, Robert Peay, Lennious Peay, Gene Peay; sister-in- law, Evelyn Peay; brothers- in-law, Johnny DeWald and Anthony Sabato. During Hilda's lengthy illness/cancer she received special care and comfort from her caregivers, which we are forever grateful. Hilda will live on forever in our hearts. We love you dearly! A visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, where a funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
