Cheryl Caldwell Obituary

Cheryl I. Caldwell NORFOLK - Cheryl I. Caldwell, 64, of the 100 block of Suburban Pkwy., passed away peacefully at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center on Sept. 1, 2010, surrounded by her family and friends. Cheryl was a native of Norfolk. Cheryl was predeceased by her husband, Jackie Lee Caldwell and two sons, Jackie Lee Caldwell Jr. and Johnny Lawson Caldwell and her mother, Lillian H. "Sitto" Koonce. Cheryl's beloved survivors include her longtime partner, William "Bill" Sanford of Norfolk; two daughters, Cheryl Jean and her husband Phillip Rogers of Norfolk, Diane Marie and her husband Sonny Magnuson of Norfolk; a son, Edward Lee Caldwell and Karen Hammer of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; a brother, John O. Koonce of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Holly Watson of Norfolk, Crystal Watson of New Braunfels, Texas and Seth Magnuson of Norfolk; cousins, Shirley Shackleford of Raleigh, N.C., and Diane Mosley of Springfield, Va.; and her aunts, Francis Galio of Slatington, Pa., Elaine Harris of Ayden, N.C., and Victoria Hatch of Bristol, Va. Special thanks to her lifelong friends Denise and Bill Ballance of Gastonia, N.C., and her loveable cat Buddy Lee. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 3, at Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, with a funeral at 7 p.m. The family will also receive friends at 9332 Beaumont St., Norfolk, following the service. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to The Barry Boys Scholarship Fund, c/o Michael Price, 333 W. Freemason St., Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23510.
