Cathleen C. Davis CHESAPEAKE - Cathleen Cordon Davis, 89, went to be with the Lord Sept. 2, 2010 in Chesapeake. Born Nov. 1, 1920 in Bath, N.C., she was the daughter of the late George D. and Mollie Poole Cordon and a member of Rosemont Christian Church. She was also a member of the Norfolk County Historical Society, the Moose Lodge, and the South Norfolk Woman's Club and its legislative committee. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, J. James Davis Jr.; a son, J. James "J.J." Davis III; a daughter, Cathleen B'Smith of Houston; three grandchildren, Kirsten B'Smith and Rebecca B'Smith, both of Escondida, Calif., and Leilani B'Smith of Santiago, Chile; a brother, George D. Cordon Jr. of Bath, N.C.; two sisters, Erma Lee Magnanti and her husband Eddie of Syracuse, N.Y., and Louise Riley of Chesapeake; a brother-in-law, James Morgan Davis and his wife Sheri; a niece, Shirley Perry; and numerous other nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, with Pastor Jerry Kilyk officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
