Dorothy Futrell Obituary

Dorothy Futrell PORTSMOUTH - Alice Dorothy "Other Grandma" Futrell, 94, of the 100 block of Riverpoint Crescent, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 in a Portsmouth hospital. A native of Portsmouth, she was the widow of Cecil H. Futrell. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Jean F. Wimbrough of Portsmouth, Katherine F. Westbrook and husband Richard of Washington, N.C., and Dottie F. Hodges and husband Willie of Portsmouth; a son, Robert S. Futrell of Portsmouth; a brother, Edward Carroll Shepherd of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, in Oak Grove Cemetery by the Rev. Philip J. Parker. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com
