Kenneth Evans Obituary

Kenneth R. Evans NORFOLK - Kenneth R. Evans, 59, went to be with his heavenly father and savior on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010. Kenny retired from Shop 56 at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He was a Vietnam era Army veteran. Kenny is survived by his mother, Vivian Lucien; his brothers, Tommy Evans and Jeff Evans and his wife Jane; sister, Rosie Jones and husband Kenny; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles whose lives he touched, and whom he loved. He is also survived by his church family at Calvary Baptist Church led by the Rev. Richard Smith, all he dearly loved. He was predeceased by his father, William Evans; his stepfather, Frank Lucien; and his brother, Randy Evans. A visitation will be Friday, Sept. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral will take place Saturday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Smith at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. The family would like to thank Drs. Reed and Silva for their excellent care for many years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or Calvary Baptist Church, 3301 Thomas St., Norfolk, VA 23513.
