My Dearest Gayle Family,
I know what this family has been through and I know it is hard. But God takes some sooner than others so that they will not suffer as much on earth. David is in heaven with God and I know he is making them laugh and light up also. I pray for your sorrow and grief and truly am sorry for all of this.

Dear Gayle family, I've known Dave since we were both in middle school and he was always the happiest, nicest person. We spent a lot of time together on the lacrosse field and I'll always cherish those memories.

Dr. Gayle & Family, I pray that god comforts you while going through such a sad time. Know that god doesnt make any mistakes, he loves up more then we know. I didnt know David personally, but I did know Dr Gayle. I know just from listening to Dr Gayle speak of him he was a wonderful kid. Dr Gayle we love you. David is now watching over us.

My prayers and love for all of the family are with you at this time. I am David's third cousin-Rae Cushing Cox Lindsey, daughter of Ellen Jane Cox and Granddaughter of Esther Gayle. I had just seen Gordan, Susan and Anne at Agnes' funeral. Just know that You are all a wonderful good family and no one could ever expect a better one. Dr. and Mrs. Gayle and family,
We were all shocked and saddened to hear of Davids passing. We pray for constant and continued comfort and healing for your family. Dad asked me to pass his condolences to all of you as well. He would love to be able to attend the viewing/funeral to pay his respects, however he is still in the hospital. May God Bless you all now and always.
