Julian T. Taylor NORFOLK - Julian Thomas "Tommy" Taylor, 52, of Stuarts Draft, Va., left this earth Sept. 30, 2010 in the arms of his angel, Rose Gilmore (mother-in-law) and man's best friend, Dudley. He retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He then moved to chief engineer on an ocean tug for Allied Transportation for 13 years where his tug mates were considered his other family. He was also a member of the Seafarers Union. He is survived by his wife, Mary Gilmore Taylor; three children: two daughters, Crystal Taylor and Miranda Taylor, one son, Marcus Gilmore; one grandson, Dempsey Teachy III; his mother, Patty Taylor whom he loved dearly; a sister, Audrey Ottaviani; and many in-laws, nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins and several friends who loved him dearly. A funeral with military honors will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Family and friends will meet one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and afterwards at 1819 Broadfield Road, Norfolk.
