Arthur Thorne Obituary

Arthur J. Thorne CHESAPEAKE - Arthur James Thorne, 67, passed away Oct. 2, 2010. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather "Pop." Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was retired from the New York City Transit Authority as superintendent of Tracks and Structures and also from Sussex II Correctional Facility as a teacher of carpentry trades. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sally A. Thorne; two sons, Peter and Ken; two daughters, Kim and Kathleen; and eight grandchildren, Jacob "Jake," Kathlean "Kathy," Kaittlin "Katie," Shiloh, Patrik "Pat," James "Jim," Miranda "Mandy" and Jessica "Jessie." Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Ronald McDonald House. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater assisted the family.

Pete and Family - you have my deepest condolences and you will be in my prayers. Pete I know how much it seemed to me that you loved and cared for your father and I'm sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family, and may your father now find his peace.
