Rodney Green Obituary

Rodney Green VIRGINIA BEACH - Rodney Irvin Green, 70, passed away Sept. 29, 2010 with his family by his side. He was born in Kansas City, Kan., to the late Helen Clark and Charles Green. His daughter, Sheila Green, predeceased him. Rod was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the sport. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy until his retirement as a chief petty officer. After his military career he retired from the civil service at Dam Neck base. He is survived by his wife, Olive Green of 23 years; daughters, Glenda Grandy Wisenbaker, Rosalie (Rose) Grandy, both of Grandy, N.C.; brother, Charles Green Jr.; grandchildren, Christopher Scott Green, William Irvin Midgett, Lauren Daniels Owens, Leslie Michelle McPherson; great-grandchildren, Riley McPherson and Ewan McPherson. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m. in Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cancer Research at www.cancerresearch.org or to the Virginia Beach SPCA at www.vbspca. com. Altmeyer Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyer.com.
