To the Burt family, I was saddened to hear of Mr. Burt's demise yesterday evening at a dinner with my NSU family. I just casually asked how he was doing thinking I would get a response of a recovery. I was not prepared for the response. My prayers go out to you. It won't be the same at the NSU basketball games where we all sat in the same sections for years or during the MEAC basketball tournament where we could be guaranteed some good food and vivid reminiscing of the "good ole days". Again I wanted to send my condolences on behalf of me and my son. Thinking of you in prayers.

Blessing and comfort to the Burt Family during the time of there lost. Thomas Burt was a person that I had always admired and enjoyed, beginning at our Moton Park days, at that time I was a young man thinking that I knew everything, but I had not met the The Man who coined the phrase "Tata Hustla" ,who in around about way let me know how little I did know, and had me laughing at the same time. And from that time on when ever our path would cross he would pull a chuckle out of me. The last time we spoke was at my mother's homegoing, one of my lowest points, and even at that time he had me chuckling, as only he could do. He leave behind not only the joy of laughter, a great personality, extraordinary character, but a host of friends who was bless enough to be able to say "I knew the real Tata Hustla". The Heavens will rejoyce with the entree of Thomas Burt Jr.

To the Burt Family, I remember many joyable times with Mr. Burt when he came to Stafford. We always joked about each others football teams. I have always been inspired by him and his generous offerings of being a great father and grandfather to his family. He has been a great blessing to others and that is what makes a true man, One who gave to his community and set an example for others, like me, to follow and uphold. He has been rewarded for his great works here on earth. Rest in peace my friend.

To the Family of Thomas (Tata Hustla) Burt,
What a remarkable person Burt was for all of us. I shall never forget the wonderful stories he would tell of his adventures in the Negroe Baseball League. On Saturday, he hit his greatest home run and when he ran the bases, at home plate to welcome him home was our heavenly Father....Job well done, Tata Hustla.
Beverly, may God continue to bless you and family in the days ahead.

TO Beverly and the Burt Family: Oh what a joy it was to be in the presence of Burt. I was introduced to Burt many years ago by Ms. Ruth Jordan at one of her many gatherings at her home after one of those exciting NSU football games. He was also a fixture at several CIAA Tournaments. Burt was the life of the gathering and had a joke or story to fit any situation which always left everyone in stiches from laughter. He was a joy to be around and was always positive about young people. He will truly be missed but his high spirits will forever remain in our hearts.
Beverly, remain strong, you will see him again!!
