James Harris

James P. Harris VIRGINIA BEACH - James Phillips Harris, 86, of the 1600 block of Arcturus Lane, departed this life Sept. 29, 2010. Born in Norfolk, he was employ- ed as a U.S. postal worker for 33 years until his retirement. He was a faithful member of New Calvary Baptist Church, where is served as a board member and trustee. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 5. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra Fuller. Survivors include his daughter, Denise Joyner of Virginia Beach; two sons, James Harris Jr. of Virginia Beach and Ronald Harris (Beverly) of Minnesota; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in New Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
