Helen Campbell Obituary

Helen S. Campbell VIRGINIA BEACH - Helen S. Campbell, 87, passed away peacefully Oct. 5, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norfolk, Mrs. Campbell was a graduate of Maury High School and The College of William and Mary. Mrs. Campbell taught for many years in the Norfolk Public Schools as an elementary school teacher until her retirement in 1985. She also taught kindergarten at Squires Memorial Presbyterian Church in Ingleside. Mrs. Campbell loved children, valued education, and was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her four children, F. Travis Campbell, Anne W. Campbell, H. Peyton Campbell, all of Virginia Beach, Susan C. Hobbs and son-in-law Mark A. Hobbs of Chesapeake; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Frank Campbell and her brother, Alexander A. Smith. The family will receive friends at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, today from noon to 1 p.m. followed by a chapel service at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be made to the family at hdoliver.com.
